TSM September Launch
The September launch list thursday night prior to the launch had only one rocket posted - it looked to be a low key launch but by friday quite a few flights were posted and two groups - some High School folks from Iowa and Macalaster College students posted flights for the day.
Craig was first to fly on a Sunny and Cool September launch with his Beer Here - it looked great and landed to the east in the corn.
Next to fly was David S. with his Stubby Heat on at G80 blue thunder with it sim'd at 1000 feet. It took a second attempt to get the ignitor to lite and it found its way to the west - far into the corn. I believe the corn-gods might have claimed the Stubby Heat as their own - perhaps in October there might be a sign of its whereabouts.
Jared who has been MIA at the launches for some time - made it back - great to see him again - and keeping with tradition had his Silo out for a flight on an I600 Redline. The flight looked great but the Silo met terra firma with a more than a polite landing - Silo-Strong she'll make it back again for more flights!
I believe next in flights for the day was the Macalester College folks with their - Mach-Aslester I on a I218 with an aggresively sim'd 6,700 feet prediction. I believe after the higher altitude flight she was found before the end of the day far to the east.
With Jared returning from the Silo recovery he stumbled upon a nosecone - we believe it to be from Carl's flight in August. The nose cone at the end of the day found a home in the trailer for the owner to see if she can be flight worthy again.
The high school folks had a couple flights on various Madcow DX3 rockets. The Green Demon sauntered up on a H42 to about 2100 feet in altitude. All the flights looked great!
James had his Burnout Culture out for a Level 1 certification. It was powered by a I327 and took off with a vengance. The flight and rocket looked great and it was an easy cert after finding her to the east in the corn. James brought the Burnout Culture to Brunos to have it table cert'd - Bravo - Great flight.
Comraderie found its way to Bruno's post launch - for a very fine day out at Maple Island.
