Pictures from 2005 TSM April Launch - Maple Island |
The April 2005 TSM launch was a cold and windy outing. Only the brave and true to their rocketery hearts assembled at the first TSM launch of 2005. Highlights from the launch included Ron's 2 stage flight with an expected altitude of 10,000 feet and Pete's massive green thing. Pete thought to fly it, but while testing the chute he was dragged down the flight line, so we will have to wait to May to see that massive beast take to the sky. We also had the Boy Scouts from Troop 294 in Bloomington participate in the fellowship of TSM and launch a salvo of low power rockets into the air. The rocketry gods did claim at least one of our clan as Craig's many finned rocket took a perfect swan dive at apogee and in a heart-tearing pursuit swam toward the ground at a frenzied pace. Fellow Rocketeers tried to convince Craig his rocket could rise from the ashes again but we may need to wait to see what the future shall bring for this poor weathered craft. On a warm and bright note, Rocket Grill maven Judy, prepared a wonderful lunch for the crew, her gloved hands on the grill trying to keep herself warm spoke of the devotion to our hobby. Rumor has it she is going to build a Big Daddy so look for it at an upcoming launch. Finally, A wonderful flight for a level 1 certification for Greg, new to TSM, rounded off our cold and windy day. Thanks to all the flyers and spectators for coming out and braving the elements! | |
